"Creativity is seeing what everyone else has seen and thinking what no-one else has thought" - Albert Einstein

Iris Apfel was the featured artist of last Monday’s Coloricombo. The owl was her icon and this led me to create an impromptu painting of an owl, alongside many of you.

I love seeing what you create and post in the Creative Prompts Facebook group and on social media. Since March’s theme is collage I’ve put together another post with collage as technique.

Collaging is a wonderful way to explore creative possibilities, to try something different and also a helpful technique to come unstuck when you’re lacking that creative mojo!

There are two images of owls and another of a cat in PDF format for you to download and print out, then cut up and turn into your own collages.

You’re welcome to use these for personal purposes (please, not for your own workshops or for artworks for resale). These drawings can be used as inspiration to create your own templates of textures and marks for collages.

Collage owls. These are all © Esté MacLeod and are free to download for personal use only.

There’s two videos on this post. The first video is me making the textures by drawing, painting and printing using Golden High Flow acrylic ink.
