This week’s prompt includes templates and a demonstration for contributing subscribers!
We are currently in the False Bay area of Cape Town. When we arrived at the place we’re staying I noticed the beautiful protea stems in containers on our bed side tables.
Colour Combination
These are the source of this week’s colour prompt: Purple Red, Iron Green, Vermillion & Sepia. Use these colours (together with any neutral lights and darks) to create an artwork in any medium or style.

As always, I love seeing what you’ve created. If you’re posting on Instagram, please tag #coloricombo and #estemacleod or join us in the private Facebook group Creative Prompts.
Artwork and Templates
As mentioned previously we’re making changes to Coloricombo in 2025. There will be a colour prompt every week with inspiration coming from a variety of sources (just like this week’s plant inspiration) and not just from artists and artworks.
A demonstration video where Inktense and Aquarelle pencils are used in combination with QoR watercolours is available below for contributing #coloricombo subscribers. There are also eight downloadable high resolution botanical images to be used as templates for those who’d like to use them as shape inspiration. I appreciate your support!
If you’re considering a paid subscription, please take a look at this post which highlights the benefits and let’s your share your thoughts with me through a short online survey.
