Colours of India
Week 52's colours are Flame Red, Muted Blue, Turmeric & Powder Blue
We’ve come to the end of the fourth year of Coloricombo prompts. What started as month long Instagram colour challenges developed into a program where a fresh dollop of colours is shared weekly along with backstories about artists from the past and other bits and pieces that grab my attention.
The colours for this week are inspired by India. In October next year I will be teaching on a retreat in Rajasthan and I am super excited about it. It’s named Print and Pattern and you can read more about it here.
The Shaking things up.
The Coloricombo program will continue in 2026, and will be evolving slightly. As I put the prompts together weekly, I continue to develop new ideas and this year I started to focus more on sketchbook work and on the creation of small artworks to be worked on over time. It is a wonderful way to relax and be in the moment, to be mindful and to work intuitively.
This new discovery is something I am excited about and would love to share more about this idea with you. By sharing different shapes each week along with the colours, this process of creating will become more dynamic. I will be sharing my ideas for 2026 in a live session this week (look out for an email confirming date and time).
The refreshed colours and shapes prompts will start next week as the New Year rolls in.

The colours this week are Flame Red, Muted Blue, Turmeric & Powder Blue. Use the colours along with a contrasting dark and neutral light colour to create an artwork in any medium or style. Share this post with someone who likes colour and might enjoy a weekly dollop of colour and creativity.
It is fun to see what you create with the prompts, thank you for sharing your creations. If you’re posting on Instagram, please tag #coloricombo and #estemacleod and join us in the private Facebook group Creative Prompts.
