With me teaching in Morocco on an art retreat and having my annual open studio last weekend + finishing artworks for the Hampstead Affordable Art Fair I’ve been quite busy. I managed to catch up with colour mixing and paintings for three weeks of April’s #coloriflori prompts.
For Weeks 16 and 17, I’ve added a single video each week showing both colour mixing and a small watercolour painting. They’ve been added to the original posts (so they aren’t a separate post like this one) and are available for everyone to view. Please revisit those two weeks and leave any feedback in the comments.
Week 16 featured Ilonka Karasz and the almost primary colours of Jade, Primrose, Vermilion and Purple Grey whilst Week 17 featured the Moroccan outsider artist Chaibia Talal with colours reminiscent of Fes: Emerald Green, Indigo, Burnt Orange and Saffron.
Colour Mixing Demo
In this demo linked to the colours of Week 18 and Scottie Wilson’s pen and crayon sketch, I’m mixing Pistachio, Sea Green, Burnt Sienna and Peach.
Artwork Demo
If you’re a paid subscriber (thank you!) you’ll be able to watch me creating an artwork in these colours below. If you’re considering becoming a paid subscriber, your contribution would help support the time that’s put into Coloricombo. In return you get access to exclusive content and discounts on courses.
It only costs $9 per month or $90 per year, that’s less than $2 per weekly post!
Floral Fusion
Speaking of which, Floral Fusion starts this weekend. We’ll be doing some warm up exercises and reviewing the materials to be used in the course and the first of three modules kicks off on Monday. Don’t miss out, this familiar topic of flowers will be interpreted in different ways to explore new possibilities. Grow your portfolio and expand you repertoire of techniques.
And yes, there’s still a great discount for paid subscribers!
