Number Four.... a Drawing with a Tiny Door
Festive themed Drawings incorporating the shapes of numbers 10 to 1
This year I started using ink pads in my sketchbook drawings to create an effect that is different from watercolour or pencil.
I like to use masking fluid and in this demo I use a container with a syringe-sized drawing nib to apply masking fluid in dots. You can buy these containers online and some masking fluids come in containers for application but I find this to be a good alternative.
This tool with syringe tip was also used to apply acrylic ink lines for this cosy little house drawing with a tiny door, the shape of number four has been turned into window shapes and trees. I used white gouache to create the snow effect on top of a watercolour layer and Inktense blocks were used to add colour on top of the night sky. Once the painting dried I removed the masking fluid to reveal the white dots.
You can see the sped up video below (there is no sound).
