Number Six, what's in the box?
Festive themed Drawings incorporating the shapes of numbers 10 to 1
As part of the countdown I am making a simple drawing of a wrapped gift box, have a look at the video recording below.
For this sketchbook drawing of a wrapped present I used used the shape of the number six to create the curls of the ribbon on the present. The drawing is done with a BelleAqua 1/4” striper brush from Silver Brush Limited, a lovely dagger shaped brush for fine detail and broader strokes. It comes in a set along with a 3/8” larger brush of the same shape.
Here’s my affiliate link to it on Amazon in the States:
Paynes Grey watercolour from QoR is the only colour used in this demo. This neutral colour is a staple for many artists, myself included. In the demo I use this colour to paint the shape of the number six for the curls of the ribbon then added the box.
Have a go and you’ll see how the curve of the number six lends itself to become a 3D shape.
